Arkimedia Group launches OLIVE,” a new sustainable, vegan, and cruelty-free material made from the waste of Italian olive pits used in the production of extra virgin olive oil. This innovative fabric was created with the aim of transforming an agro-industrial by-product—following the same approach previously adopted with “Ribera,” made from orange waste—into a valuable resource.

Mainly in Central and Southern Italy, the pits collected after cold pressing are crushed, ground into powder, and then blended with plant-based polyurethane (bio PU) to obtain the final material.

The idea is to leverage a distinctly Italian hallmark as the starting point for a textile suitable for various product categories: for now, Arkimedia has chosen to use it for watch straps. This decision reflects a growing focus on environmental responsibility: beyond aesthetic and technical performance, environmental impact, a certified supply chain, and a circular approach that enhances what was once considered waste are key priorities.
