The collaboration between Fieracavalli and SOL Expo, Veronafiere’s event dedicated to promoting extra virgin olive oil in all its aspects, taking place from 28 February to 2 March 2027, has given rise to a meeting exploring the relationship between nutrition, health and sports performance.
Saturday, 7 November, from 12:30 to 13:15, the talk “Extra Virgin Olive Oil: A Food Supporting the Rider–Horse Partnership” will explore the nutritional properties of EVOO, which is rich in unsaturated fats and bioactive compounds, and its contribution to a healthy, balanced diet.
For the rider, consuming EVOO is part of a diet that supports cardiovascular health; for the equine athlete, on the other hand, fats provide a complementary source of energy and should be introduced gradually according to the horse’s nutritional needs.
The meeting will therefore explore the link between nutrition, metabolic efficiency and well-being, with a focus on the proper nutritional management of the sport horse.
The discussion will be moderated by Enzo Gambin, Director of AIPO – the Interregional Association of Olive Growers. Speakers will include Armando Di Ruzza, B2C Exhibition Manager at Veronafiere; Federico Schena, Professor of Sports Sciences at the University of Verona; Roberto Mantovani, Professor of General Animal Science and Genetic Improvement at the University of Padua; and Giusy Buscemi, agricultural entrepreneur at Casa Rossa.
Casa Rossa is also presenting an exclusive limited edition for Fieracavalli: its reserve olive oil, featuring the event’s logo on the label, will be available at the Fieracavalli store in both gift-box packaging and a bag-in-wood format.
EVOO will also feature in the fair’s food and beverage offering: SOL Expo is curating the olive oil selection at the North Grandstand in Hall 8, home to the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™.
The selection showcases the excellence of Italian olive growing through five regions, featuring Casa Rossa from Sicily, Croceri from the Marche region, Marsicani from Campania, Salvagno Giovanni from Veneto and Toscano IGP from Tuscany. Together, they offer a journey through the regions, traditions and diverse expressions of Italy’s extra virgin olive oil culture.
A talk exploring the link between nutrition, well-being and sports performance.
