A dedicated experience for primary school children, designed to discover the olive tree and extra virgin olive oil through games, tastings, stories, and engaging activities.
The Kids Area is an experience designed to make learning fun, helping children discover, step by step, where one of the most iconic foods of our tradition comes from, how it is produced, and why it is so valuable for our wellbeing.
The olive tree is not simply the plant that gives us one of the most representative foods of our tradition. It is also an environmental and cultural heritage to be discovered and preserved.
In 2019, UNESCO recognized the olive tree as an essential resource for the planet, thanks to its contribution to combating climate change, preventing desertification and hydrogeological instability, and promoting environmental sustainability.
At the Kids Area, children can discover the world of olive oil starting from its origins: the land, the olive tree, the fruit, and the work of people.

What activities will children take part in?
From Olives to Oil
Learn about the olive tree and discover the different stages of harvesting and production through images, simple experiments, and a model olive mill.
Food Education
Discover how to use extra virgin olive oil in everyday meals and learn about the importance of a balanced diet.
Educational Games
Memory games, quizzes, step-by-step challenges, matching games, and sequencing activities.
Environmental Education
Explore the role of the olive tree in the ecosystem, soil care, biodiversity, and the reuse of materials resulting from olive processing.
Sensory and Hands-On Workshops
Smell and taste olive oil, identify aromas and flavours, compare different oils, and learn how to describe them. Plant a small olive tree and observe what happens when oil and water are combined, exploring density, emulsions, and the properties of olive oil in an age-appropriate way.
Creative Activities
Drawings of olive trees, collages, crafts using leaves and olives, and designing labels for an imaginary bottle of olive oil.
